What is Advocacy?

Advocacy is the act and process of supporting a particular side of an issue, cause or proposal.

A1C Wellness is Diabetic Led Influence.

The primary mission of A1C Wellness is to execute advocacy programs from the point of a view of the diabetic through:

  • The direct lobbying of elected officials and staff in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Washington, DC initially.
    • In addition, building relationships in key government agencies at all levels.
  • Communicating our viewpoint to the public and the media
  • Educating targeted supporters of our cause on upcoming issues

Over time, we will continue to align with “like-minded” organizations on the issues at the local, state and federal levels. Even though there are many organizations who currently are better known for supporting diabetic issues, we will stand together, or alone where necessary to solidify the position in which we are promoting.

Current Legislative Agenda.

In 2019, we will continue to monitor and support issues which help the quality of life of those living with diabetes. A few samples issues include health insurance, accessiabilty of care, medication availability and cost, awareness programs in the community and more.

Current Legal Agenda.

We are monitoring current legal cases at the state and federal level involving discrimination and illegal practices towards those living with diabetes.
